For construction graded timber we do allow some knots as long as they as solid, wane is not allowed, 20% sap wood is allowed. For English Oak/Sweet Chestnut if wood worm holes are visible after milling the timber is treated with a 2 part chemical treatment (3-iodo-2-propynyl butylcarbamate (IPBC) & permethrin (ISO)) to kill any live worm. We aim to keep this to a minimum but worm holes are sometimes part of English hardwood timbers and acepted in the grading process. The worm holes do not effect the structural integrity of the timber.
  • Returns – We are unable to accept returns on timber orders. Once the timber has been purchased it cannot be refunded.
